Will I get as much out of the home-study program as if I were in the classroom?

There are definite benefits to being in the class room because you have constant interaction with the instructor and fellow students.  The class assignments are the same.  By watching and following the DVD instruction you can work and rework your arrangement as many times as you need to. It’s important to remember that practice is the key.  You are in the learning process and it’s okay to make mistakes.

I would someday like to be my own boss and have my own business will the distance-learning program prepare me for that?

Yes, it would be your first step toward being a successful business owner.  I recommend to all students, whether they attended class in person or took a correspondence course, to get practical experience by working in a shop for a year or two. 

What is supplied in the home-study course?

Everything you need except the flowers and foliages.  Upon enrollment you will be sent your tools, books, DVDs, instructions and your first class assignment.

What is the cost of the course?

The total cost of the home-study program is $1,080.00 which includes all of your material, except fresh flowers.  The complete cost covers all shipping and packaging.

Approximately how much are the flowers going to cost me?

It varies from arrangement to arrangement approximately $20.00 to $35.00 per arrangement.  If you have access to a wholesale floral supplier maybe less however, most of the flowers suggested are available in the supermarket.

What if the flowers used in the DVD demonstration are not available?

You will be given many substitution choices.  It is because of the tremendous array of flowers that we can create so many different arrangements with similar instructions.

May I work at my own pace in completing the assignments?

Yes, in the classroom we have a set schedule however at home you can work at your own pace.  You will be give suggested time frames on how long each arrangement takes.   Remember the flowers are only going to be fresh for so long so, don’t take too much time.

What are the enrollment requirements?

Really, there aren’t any if you love flowers and want to learn a professional design skill, that’s all you need.

How long is the course?

You can work at your own pace.  Many students complete the assignments and submit their photos for evaluation quickly.  Turn around for critiques are usually just a couple of days. Provided you have successfully completed the previous design then your next assignment is sent to you.  Some students complete the course in 10-12 weeks.

Will I receive a Certificate?

Yes, upon successful completion of the course you will receive a Certificate of Completion.  A copy can be viewed here you will also receive a congratulatory letter from the school office.
